It may not look that impressive, but trust me... I was going fast.
Snowboarding at Copper Mountain in Colorado. There are not many other things that I'd rather be doing.
The day before the wedding, my younger siblings and I, Abu the best man, and a kid named Sam from Iowa, decided to treck to the mountains to squeeze in a day of snowboarding. I mean... it's CO. You have to go snowboarding while you are here. Anyways, the day was absolutely perfict. And when I say perfict, I mean: aprox. 35 degrees, sunny, little to no wind, no precipitation, and the nicest powdered snow that you could ever imagine. Perfict. My sister and I stayed mostly on the greens to practice our technique, while my brother, Abu, and Sam ran off to the harder greens and blues. I worked on my toe-heel edge S curves-- specifically narrowing my curves and learning to handle speed. I did pretty ok. My last run was the worst though. It was a hard course, intermixing greens with blues, with an extremely long and steep hill near the bottom. I was really tired. I basically snowplowed that run on my heels, not even having the strength to switch to toe-edge. My brother Aduma would be mad to see that. But... he was back home preparing for a wedding of sorts.
All in all it was a great day. I had not expected another chance to snowboard before the end of the season, so a suprise trip to Copper was wonderful! I cannot wait until next season to pick up where I left off!!
