Aprons, yes. You are probably wondering about the title of this blog. This is not a huge deal, but it is worth noting, because I know it was the work of God. I got the church at about 8:45am (worship team practice starts at about 9:15, so I was early). As I was getting out of the car, one of the guys in my church runs around the building towards me yelling, "Look what we found!" The guy had found two aprons in the front yard of the church. They were clean, white and folded, yet someone (I guess) had been throwing them away, and happened to throw them into our church yard on the the day of the BBQ???? It was perfict, because no one remembered to get aprons for the guys who were manning the huge grill. God just thinks of everything.
That's not the only thing that happened yesturday. I was talking to a friend of mine who is from Calvary Baptist SNA. He's an old guy, but he's really cool, and I used to do Worship with him before I left SNA. He saw me at the BBQ and stopped to talk. He told me that his son, who had been in drugs for a long time and was currently in prison, had just gotten saved and was on FIRE for CHRIST! I said, "What!!??" I knew this guy's son to some extent, and I had prayed occasionally for him. This was the last thing I had expected. I had pretty much given up hope for this guy. I was like, "Whoa! Praise God!"
At the BBQ, I got to talk to alot of people. I was talking to two Chinese kids, and they were asking me questions about God and Christians. Needless to say, I got my pastor to go talk to them. He talked to them for a while, presented the Gospel, and gave them a lot to think about. They left after a while, but I think they might come back.
I talked to one girl for a while. She had green hair, dark makeup, and steriotypical "punk" cloths. She was probably between the age of my two younger siblings. I watched as she lit up a cigerette and told me that she was currently homeless. My friend Kristin and I talked to this girl for a while. When I asked what she believed, she told me that she was a pegan. An ancient religion, actually, she said, older than Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. We talked about religion, Christians, the Bible, and life after death. She is firm in her beliefs, and of course I wasn't pushy on mine. That never works. She did read the chick tract though. She also made fun of it. But at least she read it. It's all about planting the seeds. God does the watering. I hope and pray she will be back.
From 10:30 to midnight, the Boy and I took a tour of UD's campus, while the tour guides related some history and ghost stories of the campus. I've always been sensitive to the supernatural, so I got really scared. The Boy prayed for me in the car for a little while, but it wasn't helping that much. I knew the Lord wanted me to pray. He wanted me to take to focus of myself and put it on Him. I started thanking God for His blessings at the BBQ. Then, like a wellspring, His spirit filled me. I started praying with power and authority for the campus, the Christians on campus, the kids we met at the BBQ and so on. I rebuked the demons who were trying to scare me in the name of Jesus. My fear left, and soul was filled with a different ghost--the Holy Ghost!
Ok, this sounds weird, but it's hard to type what happened and what I felt. I prayed for about 15-20 minutes I think. It was powerful. The Boy was blown away. I was excited.
